About Dr. LoTruglio

“Every art and every inquiry, and likewise, every action and choice seems to aim at some good and hence it has been beautifully said that the good is that at which all things aim” – Aristotle

Notes to Students: Welcome to another year at Naples Classical Academy! I am excited to embark on this noble endeavor with you all. I look forward to getting to know you and to discussing all things Lincoln, Aristotle, history, and political philosophy.

About Me: I was born in New York but grew up in North Carolina. I have also lived in Michigan and Florida. My wife Caitlin and I were married in 2015. We have two daughters, Anastasia, who is five, and Isabelle, who is three, and a newly arrived son, Peter, who is two months old. When I am not reading about Abraham Lincoln or Aristotle, I enjoy sports, chess, star-gazing, and epically complicated board games.

Education: From 2011-2015, I attended Belmont Abbey College. I graduated with my B.A. in History and Government and Political Philosophy. In 2017, I earned my M.A. in Politics as a student in Hillsdale College’s Van Andel Graduate School of Statesmanship. I recently earned my Ph.D. in politics from Hillsdale with a dissertation on Abraham Lincoln.
