Mr. Mathias is President and CEO of MWM Investment Consulting. Since graduating from Florida State University and moving to Naples 1992, Mathias has earned accolades for his public service. He has served on boards and participated on committees for a number of local organizations including Rotary International, Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Club of Collier County, Leadership Collier, Children’s Museum of Naples, NCH Healthcare Foundation, Champions for Learning, and Mason Classical Academy.

Mark Russo

Mark Russo

Director

Dr. Russo is a nephrologist affiliated with NCH Baker Hospital. He twice served as chief of medicine at NCH and was named its Physician of the Year in 2010. Chairman of Network 7, which provides state oversight of all dialysis machines, Dr. Russo also serves on the board of the National Kidney Foundation of Florida.

Courtney Sowerby-Thomas

Director

Courtney Sowerby-Thomas is a Civil Defense Attorney at Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. and a former Assistant State Attorney for Broward County. She has been a practicing trial attorney for over 13 years, specializing in Elder Abuse, Housing Law, Temporary Child Custody Law, and Foreclosure Law. She coordinates outreach events and provides training on Landlord/Tenant Law and Elder Abuse. She is also an active parent volunteer for the PTC.

William Truog

Mr. Truog is a graduate of Hillsdale College currently serving as director of development at NCH Healthcare System, with previous experience in advancement at Kent State University. Truog served 33 years in various positions, including president and CEO, at Duracote Corp., and has served as trustee, director and member on a number of boards.

David Gooch

David Gooch

Director

David Gooch is a graduate of Westminster College located in Western Pennsylvania. His 45-year career in the steel industry comprised of 12 years at US Steel Corporation in Operations, Sales, and Marketing. Mr. Gooch then founded Value Added Metals (VAM) a Steel Distribution and Independent Commercial organization that served family owned, metals-based manufacturing companies as their exclusive commercial arm. After 33 years building a high-powered team of experienced Commercial leaders in the metals business, he sold the business including all employees to VAM’s largest steel customer in 2020 then retired and discovered southwest Florida where he and his wife are full time residents of Bonita Springs. He has served on several boards as Chair, trustee, and director. I believe in the power and necessity of classical education for our youth. It has been an honor to serve in Governance at Naples Classical Academy.

Director

Dr. Joseph Burke is a technical director at KPMG, where he works as a data scientist. He received his Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. He previously taught as a Professor of Economics at Ave Maria University from 2006 to 2015.
