Piano Club
Scholars learn the basics of piano playing: posture, finger positions, names of keys, note identification, and how to play simple songs with both hands. Mrs. Reinhold hosts the club in the Upper School Music Room, and they meet weekly every Thursday from 3:45 – 4:45pm.
- Start Date: 1/23/2025 and End Date: 4/24/2025
- Materials: Faber Piano Primer
- Payment: $100 per student
- To bring: personal headphones

Archery
The NCA archery club follows the NASP program, and seeks to teach students basic archery skills. The goal of the club is to not only teach archery but also to engender an attentiveness to precision in all areas of life, and to foster community by bringing students together and forming friendships within the team.
- Started the first Tuesday of the spring semester and will conclude at the end of the year
- Open to 6th-12th grade only, students must have a weighted grade average of at least a B- to join, and must not have any suspensions
- Staff: Mr. Barrett (primary), Mrs. Barrett (secondary), Dr. Rochefort, Mr. Duff, and Ms. Kirschner each certified through the NASP
- Payment: $100 per student

Spring Choir Program
In choir, scholars will develop their skills in reading music, ensemble singing, vocal technique, and familiarization with classical works of choral literature.
Upper school scholars will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the faculty choir in a presentation of an excerpt from Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo virtutum, one of the first known operatic-esque compositions in the canon of western music. Rehearsals will culminate in a spring recital on May 3, 2025. View schedule

Study Buddy Club
Upper school students work with lower school students on their homework. They model academic excellence and scholarly habits, and the younger students gain confidence in their skills.
- Meeting Time: Mondays 3:30 to 4:15 in Miss Henderson’s room (221), Thursdays 3:30 to 4:15 in Miss Schulz’ room (218)
- Who: Open to K-5 for students and 7-12 for tutors
- Staff: Miss Henderson and Miss Schulz
- Payment: Free
