Boletín semanal – 5.1.26

Estimadas familias de NCA:,

We have only three weeks remaining for this school year! This past week, we truly enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate our Seniors at the Baccalaureate Dinner on Thursday night, at Esplanade Country Club. Thank you to our administration, teachers and PTC for making the night memorable for our soon-to-be graduates.

We are in the midst of event season, so please ensure that you are following the school calendario de eventos to see every opportunity for you to be on campus.

Important Updates for All Families:

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week – May 4-8

Next week, we take some time to recognize the people that provide a classical education for your child. Cards, notes and small gifts are great ways to show appreciation for these dedicated educators – and they are always valued. Our PTC and school administration will also celebrate our staff members with treats all week long. We hope that you will join us in saying “thank you” to these staff members.

State Testing – Best Practices for Scholars

NCA does not, nor will we ever, teach to a test. That said, as a public charter school, NCA scholars are required to take state testing. Next week, we start the final stretch of state testing. The testing schedule is located further down in the newsletter and in our calendario de eventos.

We have some important suggestions for families to help support your scholars:

-Ensure that your scholar gets a good night’s rest before each of their testing dates.

-Have them eat breakfast on testing dates for proper energy and focus.

-Scholars can be apprehensive and anxious about testing; we encourage you talk them through the nerves they may feel.

Gymnasium/Auditorium Construction Update

You may have noticed some activity where our new gym will be located. Starting next week, you will see equipment and workers on-site as the building project progresses. Parking will be impacted along the West lot. We are excited for what this space will mean for our scholars and our school, and that the completion timeline will have the gym open by January 2027 for use during the second semester of our next school year. Families looking to watch the groundbreaking ceremony for this new building – that ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 14th.

Summer Camp – Now Full

Thank you to all families that registered your child for NCA’s first summer camp. We are excited to welcome your scholar/s over that 8-week period of fun and engagement! If you have any questions relating to camp, please contact Señor Simpreux

We thank you for being part of the NCA community, and we look forward to welcoming your family back to campus on Monday.

Virtud del mes: Perserverancia

Seré persistente en mis esfuerzos a pesar de la dificultad o el retraso en alcanzar el éxito.

Sincerely,

Señor Wester
